Position Overview

The Adaptive Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the preparation, processing and maintenance of the accounts payable records. This role supports the Company’s operational needs by interfacing with external partners.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage Accounts Payable Cycle

  • Processing invoices
  • Purchase order matching
  • Account Coding
  • Data Entry and Check Runs
  • Serve as a point person as it relates to accounts payable inquiries
  • Monitor rent, healthcare and other key vendors to assure timely payment

Manage Accounts Payable Process

  • Prepare close entries as related to accounts payable on a timely basis
  • Create ad hoc reporting as needed
  • Drive efficiencies and improvements within the accounts payable process
  • Perform Sarbanes-Oxley controls in area of responsibility
  • Support audit on an as-needed basis

Manage Travel and Expense Programs

  • Process items as related to the T&E program at Adaptive
  • Serve as a point person as it relates to T&E inquiries
  • Verify timely payment of corporate credit cards
  • Draft and update Company policies and procedures as needed

Experience and Skills:

  • BA/BS degree in accounting, finance or other related field preferred, or relevant work experience.
  • 3+ years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Must be proficient in Excel and able to learn new systems quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a successful team.
  • Flexible to growing and changing processes.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, accountable and proactive with exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods.
