Position Overview:

The Senior Software QA Engineer is a key member of the software team focused on building quality into Adaptive software. Our systems are increasingly complex and increasingly subject to regulation, both of which demand a methodical, rigorous and documented approach to verification. The right candidate will not only contribute to specific testing activities, but will be responsible for creating and improving Adaptive’s testing infrastructure and methodology.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Write and execute comprehensive test plans
  • Develop and execute test automation
  • Create, automate, and execute test plans for regression testing and BVTs
  • Identify gaps in testing process and procedures, and proactively drive improvements that will ‘raise the bar’ on software quality
  • Support business partners during formal User Validation exercises
  • Perform real-time and forensic investigation/resolution of production software issues
  • Collaborate with PM and SDE counterparts to review specifications, participate in design discussions, and ensure appropriate hooks are built for ‘testability’

Experience and Skills:

 

Required Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a professional software QA or development role
  • Extensive knowledge of software QA / test methodologies and process
  • Experience developing and executing test automation
  • Working knowledge of core software security and privacy concepts
  • Extensive experience with issue/bug tracking systems, such as JIRA
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Passion for Adaptive’s mission to change the course of medicine

 

 

Preferred:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related
  • Exposure to molecular diagnostics or other biotechnology/healthcare related domains
  • Familiarity with next generation sequencing technologies
  • Experience working in software QA on products complying with regulatory standards – such as CAP/CLIA, HIPAA and 21 CFR part 11
