Job Description:

DO YOU WANT TO HELP SAVE LIVES? Our tests help improve treatment for patients with cancers like Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, and other life-threatening conditions. We’re driving groundbreaking research in cancer and other immune-mediated diseases that translates into novel clinical diagnostics and innovative therapeutics. With strong financial backing and rapid growth we are looking for the most passionate and collaborative innovators to join us at the forefront of immune-based discoveries, transforming the future state of health through our disruptive, proprietary immunosequencing technology.

At Adaptive, you'll be challenged, you'll be inspired, and you'll be proud to be part of an innovative organization making a real impact on improving the quality of life globally. No matter what your role is, you'll find a diverse, team-driven, fun culture where your contributions truly count.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and capable senior software engineer with extensive experience to support development and ongoing maintenance of Adaptive’s production data analysis pipelines and clinical reporting software. In addition to other engineers, this position will work closely with project management, development leads, and QA by helping to design and then implement software solutions integral to Adaptive’s current and future engineering roadmaps.

Job Responsibilities:

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for defining, creating, developing, implementing, testing, deploying, and running software that supports Adaptive’s data analysis pipelines, clinical reporting software, and other similar internal products. The software you create will be used to support patient care. Applicants will be working on a fast-paced team of 5 or more developers; therefore, being able to share and integrate code with others is crucial. All candidates with strong programming experience are encouraged to apply. Any exposure to biological sequence data or laboratory information management is considered a plus.

Experience and Skills:

Required Experience:

  • B.S. in Computer Science
  • 4+ years of relevant experience, e.g. creating and maintaining complex software using modern methodologies
  • Extensive experience with a strongly typed object-oriented language such as Java or C#
  • Python Experience
  • Experience with relational databases, e.g. Postgres
  • Experience with web services, RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with standard software development best practices: source code control, unit testing, in-code documentation and automated build environments
  • Ability to work in Linux environments
  • Superior communication skills in a highly diverse cross-discipline environment
  • Ability to interact with non-computer scientists such as lab technicians, biologists, geneticists and statisticians

Ideal Experience:

  • Open source contributions
  • An advanced degree
  • Experience with scientific or numerical software
  • Experience with regulated software development
  • Experience with cloud-based IaaS environments such as AWS
  • Experience with complex distributed applications deployed on Linux cluster environments

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Excellent benefits package including employer paid medical, dental, vision, vacations and holidays for eligible positions.
