Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and capable computational biologist with extensive experience to support ongoing assay development projects in Adaptive R&D. This position requires extensive experience in both wet lab and computational biology; duties will include data analysis, statistical and computational algorithms development and preparation of results but will not include direct lab work. In addition to other computational biologists, this position will work closely with scientists performing lab work in Adaptive R&D, helping to design and then analyze experiments in support of ongoing platform technology development, analyzing and presenting results primarily to internal stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine data analysis on experiments generated as part of assay development
  • Develop statistical frameworks for extracting maximal value from complex and highly-multiplexed new cellular and immunological assays
  • Quickly develop and implement prototype data analysis pipelines to keep pace with wet-lab R&D advances, going from raw sequence data to biological result with speed and accuracy

Experience and Skills:

Required Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience in immunology, molecular biology, or cell biology
  • 2+ years’ experience in scientific programming
  • 2+ years’ experience in statistical algorithm development
  • Ph.D. in bioinformatics, immunology, or a similar discipline preferred
  • Expertise in scripting (e.g. Python or similar) for analysis of high-volume DNA sequencing datasets
  • Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and visualization
  • A passion for turning high-volume datasets into biologically-relevant results

Ideal Experience:

  • 5+ years of biotech or postdoctoral research experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in theoretical and applied biostatistics
  • A strong record of first author publications in top-tier journals and/or extramural funding
  • Demonstrated ability to personally take a complex computational and experimental framework from inception through launch

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Excellent benefits package including employer paid medical, dental, vision, vacations and holidays for eligible positions.
